UBUNTU 7.10

Its quite amazing and really fast. it runs faster than a newly installed xp! It is free and legal and even better than any other O.S. It provides a lot of free apps too. 

 The only problem is that unlike windows interface it does not have so clear functions.

for example to connect to the internet you have to download the modem's drivers and then install it(for usb connections) and for ADSL modems you have to open the terminal and type as follows-

sudo pppoconf

then enter your username and password. 

enter the information required and select the recommended options.

next time you can connect by typing

sudo pon dsl-provider

and disconnect by typing 

sudo poff
